Rules of the contest

Please read the rules below before submitting your project

1. Submissions

Contestants shall submit a pitch in English for a screen life feature film, short series (under 10 episodes), long series (20+ episodes) or short film. By screen life we mean a format whereby the motion picture is framed inside the screen of a computer, handheld computer tablet, smartphone, or similar device or within the frame of an "app" or other software program. Each pitch should include synopsis and a pdf presentation or a video presentation. Each presentation document should include the following information:

A logline and a summary of the story (not longer than 1 page)
A bio of the writer and/or director and/or producer
A description of the format – whether it is a film, series or short film, and whether it is to unfold on a computer screen, a mobile phone screen or otherwise
An approximate budget
Any other relevant elements (i.e. casting, partners, financing)
All contestants must know at least intermediate level English.Only one member from each creative team will have an opportunity to go to the pitch session.
2. Selection of Finalists and Winners

The jury will chose one winner in each category who will enter into an option and purchase agreement with Bazelevs Entertainment and get his project fully funded and produced.

Selection as a finalist is subject to proof of ownership by the finalist of all material included in the pitch, availability to travel to Bazelevs Entertainment’s office and visa approval by the relevant authorities. In the event any finalist is unable to meet these requirement, the jury will select another finalist in his/her place.

Each finalist will be invited to the Bazelevs Entertainment office to present their pitch in person and to participate in a one-week pitch session with Timur Bekmambetov and other Bazelevs Entertainment’s creative executives to work on their projects. Bazelevs Entertainment will pay for finalists’ reasonable transportation and accommodation costs.

All finalists will have an opportunity to attend specially developed workshops on writing, developing, directing and producing screen life films.

The jury will choose a final winner who will have get his project fully financed and produced by Bazelevs.
3. Schedule

All pitches must be submitted by 12 noon PST on June 1, 2018 at the website www.screenlifecontest.com.

All semi-finalists will be informed personally.

All finalists will be informed personally no later then June 15, 2018. The pitch session will take place May-August 2018 at a location to be determined.

All winners will be informed personally after pitch session.
4. Legal

In order to participate, each contestant must accept these Rules of Competition as well as the Competition Release published on this site by clicking the button “accept”.

By accepting these rules, each contestant grants Bazelevs Entertainment a non-exclusive perpetual irrevocable license to publish their pitch on the website www.screenlifecontest.com and to open it to the audience vote.

By accepting these rules, each finalist grants Bazelevs Entertainment a free option for a term of 18 months to acquire all rights in and to the materials included in the pitch as well as the materials developed during the pitch sessions; all other terms of the option and purchase agreement are to be negotiated in good faith. Each finalist is responsible for payment of his/her applicable taxes in connection thereof, if any.

By accepting these rules, each winner agrees that after a winner in each category is selected, Bazelevs Entertainment will exercise its option to acquire the rights to the materials submitted and developed by each winner by paying the winner the Purchase Price stated above.

By accepting these rules, each finalist grants Bazelevs Entertainment a free option for a term of 18 months to acquire all rights in and to the materials included in the pitch as well as the materials developed during the pitch sessions; all other terms of the option and purchase agreement are to be negotiated in good faith. Each finalist is responsible for payment of his/her applicable taxes in connection thereof, if any.
